HI! My husband and I are planning on renewing our vows on our 5th anniversary. Is that a common anniversary to renew vows? We planned on having a beach ceremony that was very small and reception at a hotel on the beach's strip.

Dear Bigmamac,

To be viewed postively, these are held on bench mark anniversaries, which means those over 20 years. 5th anniversaries are not ones usually shared with others. These are usually a dinner for the couple at a nice restaurant.

If you are renewing your vows, this would be a small ceremony with few guests. The ceremony should not resemble a wedding and the party is not a wedding reception--none of the same elements. It is an anniversary party. It is also not a gift giving event.

The beach ceremony should be very nice.

Best wishes,

Thanks! So even though it won't be like a wedding ceremony, and it's for our anniversary, is it customary to have it our wedding month? Just wondering because the beach will be chilly in March.
