My fiance and I don't want a big to-do for our wedding. We have set a date and the closer it gets my mother makes it bigger and bigger. We are at the point that we want to go to the courthouse and get married but I want pictures and/or video to remember the day. What should we do?

Why is your mother getting a say in the wedding planning? If it's because she's paying you will either need to tell her this is not what you want and hope she complies or pay her back from whatever she has spent thus far and pay for and plan the wedding you want.

Agreed. It is your wedding. You two plan it. After all, you two are adults and will be planning the rest of your lives without someone in your corner shouting out advice.

Really? Darn - I have to give up on my unsolicited advice after the kids are married? Shucks! [
] Well, I still give it but it's their decision if they want to accept it. I think they mostly listen and then do whatever they like. SHRUG
