First time posting and there seems to be a lot of postings, even some about military weddings. However, this may be a bit different. My husband and I have been married for more than 12 years and he has been gone for a year long deployment. We would like to renew our vows to just recommit to each other. We would like to include our families and close friends, however, I don't want it to be a big 'wedding' deal. We live in FL and want this to be a celebration that our children and those closest to us can be part of.
That being said, we would like to have this be a fun, low key event. My questions are: How do we word invitations? Do we do the invitations online or printed? How do we request no gifts? We will have it on the beach and want everyone to dress casually and just have a great time. Also, I would like to wear a long, flowy white dress (very simple and yet still white). Would that be okay? BTW...we are in our late 30s and have young kids. Thanks.

Vow renewal after deployment

You're definitely on the right track since vow renewals are typically informal events, not wedding.
