Hi. My husband and I want to reaffirm our vows. This year has been really hard for us as a couple. We have had several miscarriages, I had surgery and my dad died. We both want to have a small intimate reaffirmation ceremony with about 10 people on the beach. We also want to do a sand ceremony. I plan on wearing a white sundress and he will wear a linen white shirt and pants. After the ceremony we will have lunch and a toasting ceremony. Is this idea appropriate and do I need to tweak anything? I know that this is not a wedding so, therefore, the things that I would do for a wedding I will not do for the vow renewal ceremony. I really want to do a sand ceremony with both my mom and mother-in-law.

What is appropriate for reaffirmation ceremony?

Dear Jamicajai,
My heart goes out to you. I am so sorry about all that has happened to you and your family. Yes, your plans are perfect. And, no. You don't have to tweak anything.
Take care,
