My husband and I want to renew our vows in the next few years. Would it be ok to wear my modest crystal and pearl tiara from the wedding along with an informal wedding dress with a sweep train and gloves? Maybe something with chiffon and sparkle rather than the poofy silk one from our wedding. I have also seen some formal (poof and sparkle)red wedding dresses without trains that I adore. I want it to be the glamorous event I couldn't afford before but I don't want to look like a joke either. I will be 40and he'll be 35.

Dear Mltfml,
A vow renewal shouldn't appear to be a wedding. Many guests find these pretend weddings inappropriate and not pleasant. We have many, many posts and an article about why this is not a great idea. Please read them.
The tiara and wedding dress is not a great idea.
Best wishes,
