My husband and I are hoping to renew our vows next year. I nearly died on our wedding day (internal hemorrhaging from a ruptured ectopic) and do not remember much of anything from that day due to constant bouts of passing out. Since I didn't really have a chance to have "my day", I was hoping to wear my original wedding dress. We will also be marrying in the same spot as before. Other than that, I am absolutely lost on what to do. We now have two daughters whom we'd like to incorporate into the wedding. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance...

I'm sorry you had such a painful wedding day, but glad you are here to tell us about it.

A vow renewal is a great way for a husband and wife to recommit their love. But, please don't call it a wedding since a wedding is a service that marries a couple - you're already married. Since we cannot go back and rewrite history it's pointless to try to plan a wedding do-over. Just move on with your life and celebrate what you have.

There are those who say wearing the original wedding dress is appropriate for a renewal.

Some things to consider:
1. Does the dress still fit?
2. Is the dress appropriate for your age now?
3. Is the dress appropriate for the renewal venue and time of day?
