My husband and I have been married by the court and also got married by church. The only thing is that it was a Pentecostal church. We had a small reception, but now we want to have the real thing. I've been baptised, confirmed, and I've done my first comunion through the Catholic Church, but my husband has only been baptized. I know that when you are getting married for the first time, the sacraments are the requirements to be married through the Catholic Church. Since we were already married through the Pentecostal Church can we renew our vows or get a marriage blessing through the Catholic Church without my husband having to get confirmed and do his first comunion?

We suggest you speak to a priest about this. There are a few details lacking in your question for us to give you a qualified answer. Since you are already married, you need to work with a priest on a convalidation ceremony. This will give your present marriage the full blessing of the Catholic Church and your present marriage will then be viewed as sacramental and binding in the eyes of the Church.

Since your husband is reluctant to be confirmed and receive communion, there appears to be some hesitation at becoming Catholic. This should be discussed with a priest, who will be able to better advise you both.

God bless and guide you.
