If a couple got remarried to each other after living together for 3 yrs and did not invite anyone to the courthouse wedding - did not have a celebration, but sent announcements 2 months later - am I supposed to send a gift? They did not register. They live with his parents and have two children. They are friends of my grown children, not my friend's kids or even my friends. They told my son they sent us an announcement because they know we have money and will give them something expensive. I don't know what I am supposed to do. Please help! thank you.

Send wedding gifts if not invited

Your son's friends are going to be surprised to find out that wedding announcements do not require a gift.
Sorry, but this couple sounds like a drain on society and a bad influence on your son. Don't help feed their entitlement. If you feel you must acknowledge their marriage, send a card.

Dear Friendsmother,
In a word, "Yuk". This sort of behavior and attitude is stomach turning.
No, you are not obligated to send a gift. If you choose to do so, an etiquette book or one on compassion and empathy might be a great idea.
Best wishes,
