Courthouse wedding

My fiance at the time was changing jobs and without ins. so we decided to get married at the courthouse without anyone knowing. We had our wedding date planned for May 9, 2009 and was keeping it that way. Recently my parents found out we got married already and seem to keep telling us that we shouldn't do the whole fairytale wedding in May. This is my second marriage but my husbands first and we have the place already booked, the DJ booked, the photographer, hairdresser, etc. I'm torn between all of this because I did want the whole bridesmaid/groomsman wedding ceremony, but not sure if this is right or not. Can anyone help with this?

I agree with your parents. You're already married.

I agree. You are a wife and your husband is your husband. To play bride and groom isn't honest to your guests and can be very hurtful to those who find out that they were duped. Please read our many posts about this. We also have posts from those who were invited to this type of event. Some who write to me have even labeled it a hoax--not something any of us would appreciate.

Also, you'd be starting out your married life with a lie. Bad karma, IMO.
