My husband and I just celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary. We have been together for 21 years. The last several years have been pretty tough for us. This year I asked him to join me in renewing our vows, and I gave him a wedding band. Is it all right for him to wear it now? If so, which hand and which finger? When we do renew our vows he doesn't want to replace his existing wedding ring, but he does want to wear the new one too.

This is a personal choice. If it were me, I'd want the renewal to be very special and I would hold the ring until the ceremony where I would, once again, place the new ring on his finger. The finger he chooses to wear it on is his choice. You can replace the first ring and move that to the left hand or just wear the new ring on the right hand. Again, all personal choices.

I agree. This is a very personal choice. But, typically if the couple gives each other new rings, these are exchanged for the old ones during the ceremony.
