I was planning we wedding and had to stop and elope with my husband before he left for Iraq. He ended up not going the day they left so we never got our wedding day.
How do I go about planning a wedding. We are married and we want to have a wedding but do we do a renewal? I am confused and want to do it right?
Help I need some advice on the right way to do my I DO day right.

Dear Summer,
It is unfortunate, but you are already married. So, even though you didn't get the wedding you envision, it was never the less a wedding.
You could plan a vow renewal, but it isn't usually viewed as positive unless it is for a bench mark anniversary. It isn't a wedding either and shouldn't appear to be one. Please read our many, many posts about this and vow renewal etiquette.
It would be much better to just plan a belated wedding reception. This can be hosted any time during the first year of marriage. The longer one waits, though, the more traditional elements should be eliminated, such as the first dance. Also, this is not considered a gift giving event.
Best wishes,
