Widower (Baptized Ukrainian Catholic but attends Roman Catholic church) wants to marry Baptized Protestant in Widow's church) What paperwork is required and are they available online since the Ukrainian church where the Widower was baptized is too far away. Is communion allowed during the ceremony for both or does a priest have to be in attendance so catholic attendees can partake?

As long as you're both widowed, you're free to marry in the church without any paperwork since you are considered single again. I would make an appointment with the pastor of the church where you want to be married to discuss your needs.

Doesn't the Catholic church require some formal permission when you marry out of the faith? Marriage Convalidation? or Marriage Blessing?

Thank you.

You will be required to obtain dispensation from the accepted Catholic form of wedding. Please talk to your priest, who will be able to get you the paperwork you need.

As a baptized Catholic, with proper dispensation you will not be considered to be marrying outside the Church. Your marriage to another baptized Christian will be recognized as binding and sacramental in the eyes of the Church.

God bless you.
