Help
Greetings,
My wonderful fiance is Catholic. I believe his annulment will not be difficult because his ex had agreed to reverse her tube tie prior to marrying him and then would not do it after marriage. For me, however, I don't know. I am not Catholic, so it's confusing. Is the fact that I was not baptized until after marrying a bigger factor than the fact that my ex was abusive and manipulative and that my children and I left for a domestic violence shelter?
Getting an annulment if not Baptized?

Congratulations on having the courage to love again after surviving an abusive marriage!
For an annulment to be granted, it must be determined that certain elements or commitments were lacking from the very beginning that kept a marriage relationship from developing into the sacramental bond that God intended. We don't know all the details, but it certainly sounds as if your fiance has grounds for an annulment and you probably do as well, since an abusive spouse shows little interest in commiting to a marriage of emotional support for his/her mate. The time of your baptism is not nearly as important as the fact that you have been baptized.
Your best move would be to contact a kindly priest or pastoral minister who can guide you both through the annulment process. It is also recommended that you get some Christian counseling to help you heal from the baggage and emotional pain of your first marriages. Answering the annulment questions honestly and thoroughly will be a good start.
