Catholic Widow marrying a Non-catholic Widower

I am a Catholic widow (was married to a Catholic in the Catholic church 30 years ago), and I am now engaged to a widower who is a non-Catholic (Church of Christ). Do I need to remarry in a Catholic church so I can continue to receive the sacraments or can I remarry in a Church of Christ or any other Christian church? He was married the first time by a Justice. He may not want to marry in the Catholic church.

Congratulations on finding love again! Yes, you can still receive the sacraments even if you marry in a non-Catholic church. All you need to do is get dispensation from your priest, in accordance with canon law. This is basically permission for a Catholic to be married to a non-Catholic in a proper Christian ceremony.

There are a few stipulations that must be met, including some pre-marriage counseling sessions. Other than that, your priest can obtain dispensation for you and you can proceed with your wedding plans with the full blessing of the Catholic Church.
