My husband and I have been married for almost 6 years (big wedding 1st time around) and we have 3 preschool age children (twin 3 year olds and a 2 year old). He will be deploying next year for 12-15 months and we would like a small vow renewal ceremony before he leaves...

Is is wrong not to include our children in the ceremony? They are so young that I doubt they would understand what was going on and they are quite rambunctious.

Do we have to invite our parents or can it just be this one couple we are close to? All our family is spread across the country anyway...

We want something very private, but I don't want to hurt any feelings.

The vow renewal is such an intimate ceremony so it can be just the two of you. And, if I were in your shoes, I'd make sure it was just me and my husband. []

Get the grandparents to babysit and go on a nice little vacation.
