Help
My son is getting married in a private ceremony. He and his future wife would like to have a reception for family and friends at a later date. Does a reception/party need to be within a certain number of weeks or months? Many of our family members are elderly and not able to travel during the cold winter months. Any suggestions? This would not be a gift receiving party, but rather a celebration of their wedding. Thanks Debbiew

It can be held any time within the first year. Some of the traditional elements seem a bit odd after a certain amount of time. But, these are all optional.
Gifts really are given for the wedding and not the reception. So, there is no worry about that.
