how to include children in the wedding
#2
Dear Hopeful, Including children in your ceremony sounds like a wonderful idea, however, little children often panic just as you are walking down the aisle. For example, my sister wanted my four year old to be her flower girl. Just as I began to walk down the aisle she noticed all of the people looking at her, screamed and grabbed my ankle for cover. I ended up dragging her as I walked, pretending not to notice my little human leg-warmer until we reached the smiling (laughing) couple where my mother scooped her up to safety. If you want to include any of your children in the ceremony, your oldest would be the best choice. He could sit at a table with your sign-in book, act as an usher, stand in as the best man, or escort you down the aisle. Your younger children could be mentioned in a special prayer and/or the ceremonial program. Congratulations!
