My fiance' and I have just barely enough for our 140 wedding guests- people that we love and need to be there.
What we need is money for a honeymoon!
We've nothing left after exhausting every
imaginable outlet and cutting costs to bare bones.
We've both been married before and don't need gifts-
we need money![unsure]
How do we politely ask for it?

Asking for money as a wedding gift

You can't, sorry. This would imply that you are expecting gifts which is not polite. You can certainly sign up for a honeymoon gift registry or any other sort of gift registry and hope that your guests will select something off the registry. Pass the suggestion of the registry by word of mouth - do not include with your invitations.
If you want to be sure to have enough money for your honeymoon then you can cut the guest list or pare down the amenities to lower the cost of the reception.
