What would the program look like?

Ok,
I've read the vow renewal links that have been posted and I have some questions about the ceremony. Everything I have read is that it is not a wedding, so what happens during the ceremony? are there sample programs or things that have been done? My husband and I have been trying to picture what to do for the ceremony. I am trying to put the program together and I am clueless. We are renewing our vows om 3/18 and it will be a part of our tenth anniversary party at our church. It is not going to be in the sanctuary but in our church's gym which we will decorate. We have my former youth pastor coming to officiate. We will be playing games and things after the ceremony, but what does the actual ceremony consist of?
I have three children, ages 8, 4 and 18mos and they will come down the "aisle" with us, but what then?
Thanks

Tatana

Dear Tatana,

It can be very much like a wedding except the focus is on your recommitment to each other. Plus your children are included. So, you can walk toward each other from the sides of the room with your children. Or, you could walk down the 'aisle' with your children. All of this is yours to plan and create. As long as you are not creating a wedding, it is yours to create. That is what is so wonderful about this ceremony.

You can create verses for your children to recite. You could include a prayer. It is all open.

You probably don't need a program unless you are including a prayer or poem your guests may not understand or need to participate in.

Best wishes,
