My husband and I are renewing our vows and have gifts for our kids that we would like to give to them at the end of the ceremony, my problem is how to present it. I was thinking of playing a short song while we talk and give each of our children a gift. This is going to be sort of a private moment, the guests will see that we have given the children something and I plan on saying something to each on of them just to say that they are special, while everyone listens to a song. What song would be proper? I don't want a love song, as that would feel weird considering that both kids will recieve a small ring, the 16 year old will get an equivialent of a "class ring" and my 9 year old will get a small ring also. Any ideas? Thanks

I'm assuming you don't want this to be so private that you want to give the gifts behind closed doors...

Have you considered the Family Medallion ceremony? This is a nice ceremony for families with any age children.

You can read more about it on our page:

Remarriage Vow for Second Weddings

There are song suggestions there as well.

Any classical piece would work. However, given they are children, I would think that a beautiful vocal piece would be more meaningful and memorable for them. For example: If they were all boys, I would suggest something like John Lennon's Beautiful, Beautiful Boy. Your dee-jay, musicians or music professional should be able to give you appropriate suggestions. Blessings, Rev. Susanna
