Hello, this will be the second marriage for me and my fiance. I am financially secure, have very little debt and a nice sized savings account. He went through a messy divorce, was left with $20,000 credit card debt,$65,000 owed on a home worth $60,000, and has no savings account. Once we are married, does his debt become mine? Should 5 years down the road something happen to break our marriage up (happened before, could happen again), would his debt be my responsibility if I am able to make his payments and he is not? Would his premarital debt enter in anywhere?
Thanks in advance...

This could happen if you don't protect your interest with a prenuptial agreement. You and your fiance should hire separate attorneys and begin this process.
