My husband and I are considering renewing our vows for our 5 year anniversary. Our first wedding was in Vegas, we had no family present, no showers or parties, no reception, no gifts, and no announcements. We now would like to share our experience with a small amount of our family and friends in a small ceremony and reception. Is it appropriate for us to involve our children somehow and what can we have them do? We are thinking of a casual outdoor ceremony done by a friend who is a pastor. Do we have vows and what kind of role should the pastor take. Our first ceremony did not involve any religion and we would like to have that be some part of this ceremony. Since we did not have any reception before can we have a wedding cake? Is it acceptable to register for gifts because we had no party before we did not register for or get any gifts, we now just bought a home and this would be a great opportunity to get a lot of the things we do not have. It is okay if it is not acceptable but if it is how do we word things without making it sound like we are doing this for the gifts. We are not we just really want to have the experience we missed out on the first time. Any help would be wonderfully appreciated.[:)]
