Is it appropriate to mention any of the following on the invitation? If so- how do I do so?

-state that we do not want/expect gifts? (no gifts please?)

-that children are welcome

-that it is a dress/casual evening?

Or should I just leave all this out & only have the time, date, names, rsvp & that is all?

If this is an informal invitation, it can include all of that information. A vow renewal isn't held to the same etiquette standards as a wedding because it is viewed as more of an anniversary party. You could mention 'no gifts' on this invitation. I do have a little problem with this only because it implies that you were expecting gifts. But, it is viewed as proper.

Your invitation could be very personal using informal language. For example: Please join Jane and John Smith in renewing our vows. Please bring your children and dress casually, date, time, location. "Please no gifts" could be at the bottom.
