Is it appropriate to mention any of the following on the invitation? If so- how do I do so?
-state that we do not want/expect gifts? (no gifts please?)
-that children are welcome
-that it is a dress/casual evening?
Or should I just leave all this out & only have the time, date, names, rsvp & that is all?
Lots of questions & probably alot more to come!
Thank you!

mentioning children, gifts, and attire on vow renewal invitation?

Dear Mentioning,
If this is an informal invitation, it can include all of that information. A vow renewal isn't held to the same etiquette standards as a wedding because it is viewed as more of an anniversary party. You could mention 'no gifts' on this invitation. I do have a little problem with this only because it implies that you were expecting gifts. But, it is viewed as proper.
Your invitation could be very personal using informal language. For example: Please join Jane and John Smith in renewing our vows. Please bring your children and dress casually, date, time, location. "Please no gifts" could be at the bottom.
Best wishes,

I've seen some write the following:
Your presence is our present so come help us celebrate and bring only your smile!
Warning: May be too corny for some! [
