I am very confused about this. My fiance and I were married previously - a second marriage for us both. Things did not turn out well and we divorced. A year after the divorce finalized we both realized we were still in love and started dating again.

To make an obviously long story short, we are getting married again. What is the ettiqute for a second marriage to the same partner? There are children involved on both sides. The first time we married it was a very low key affair, just our immeadiate family. I'd like to have a bigger wedding this time, a true blending of our families. I'm also considering a very small wedding with a larger reception on each coast - my family is all on the west coast and his on the east. Help!

You would follow the same etiquette used for all second or encore weddings. There is no difference.

Your children can be involved in your ceremony. You may also have two receptions for each of your families.
