My fiance and I will be going to the Bahamas this summer with close friends and family to be married on the beach. This is both of ours second marriage. So, my first question is - do we have to have attendants? Or, is it appropriate to do so? One of my closest friends that will be going was a bridesmaid in my first wedding. Would it be wrong to have her as my Maid of Honor if we choose to have attendents? And, finally - since this is a small wedding, would it be appropriate to have a larger reception when we return home so that friends and family who could not go to the Bahamas may celebrate with us?

Generally weddings have attendants. They are the formal witnesses to the event and should be people you would like to honor. While some second time brides are superstitious about having the same attendants, if you are not superstitious, you can choose your friend.
