Help
My husband and I will be married for 20 years jan 2005. we wante to have a wedding, because the first wedding we had was a shotgun, because i was pregnant, and his mother planned EVERYTHING, right down to the hand me down dress. I had no say so, and we have always regretted it. Plus it was very negative, so my hubby wanted to have a wedding on our anniversary, with just our children and close friends and family, very small. He wants to do it in Bahamas. I was wondering if others have done the same thing, had a second wedding after they were already married, or does this seem silly. I really want to be able to plan one for myself the way we want it.

If you are really concerned about how your family and friends perceive your intention then simply call it a vow renewal...a rose by any other name would still smell as sweet...or something like that.
You can still go to the Bahamas, still have a ceremony, reception, and guests, you're just calling it all by a different name. :wink:
