My now husband and I originally planned to get married on May, 11 2006. We have a daughter in March. He wanted to get married now just so he could have the same legal rights to her as I do(because of the whole birth mother thing). We couldn't afford a wedding so we were married by the Justice of the Peace. We still want the Big wedding next year. Is it okay if I treat this as a first marriage. I mean most of are family and friends don't know we're married. So can I cover my face with the veil. Can my dress have a train? Can my daddy walk me down the aisle?

Obviously you can have a big wedding and not tell anyone if that is what you want to do. But, do you really want to mislead your family and friends about something as important as your marriage, especially if it is going to be a religious wedding? How about being straight forward with everyone about the situation and ask them to join you for the blessing of your marriage. It think your family and friends will respect you for that and you will not have to worry about what if people find out the truth.
