We are getting married in Mexico in September and having a separate reception a few weeks later for those who can not attend. How do we word the invitations? Do we send out two separate invitations one to invite people to Mexico and then one for the reception only? We know some can't afford to go to Mexico but do we send an invitation anyway? Thanks.... Melanie

Dear Getting Married,

For those whom you are inviting to both the wedding and reception, you may send one invitation with the locations and dates of each event. It is in the same form as all wedding and reception invitations. No different.

If you are inviting guests to the reception who are not invited to the wedding, you will need to send reception invitations. Your guests will realize that you are getting (or are) married when they receive the invitation. These follow the same wording as all reception invitation.

There really is no difference in these invitations than the regular, stay at home weddings and receptions--no worries.

Best wishes,

Yes, send invitations to all people you'd like to invite. Don't assume they can't or won't come. Let them decline if they can't make it.
